The Lab leader for this event is Lane Thomas, and the assistant lab leaders are Anthony, Emily, and JT.
Lincoln-Douglas is centered around whether or not we (either as a nation or persons) should participate in some event or conduct. A topic is released every two months, for example:
The United States ought to grant Universal Health Care to its citizens.
The student would then discuss both the practical and moral reasons to both oppose and support this proposal. Topics (or "Resolutions") may also pose a question to conduct within the self. The student would then write two cases (written persuasive speech formatted in a very specific way) to take to the tournaments (or meets against other schools).
Lincoln-Douglas involves philosophy, creative thinking, political literature, and of course argumentation.
In the future all lecture notes, reading material, homework, and important dates will be posted here. Thank you and i hope we can have a fantastic year in this program together! :)
